To create and activate a new AWS account, do the following:

1. Go to the Amazon web services homepage.

2. Click the Create an AWS account button.

3. Enter your email in the root user email address.

4. Choose a name for your new AWS account.

Note: If your account is a professional AWS, use the corporate distribution list instead of personal email address.

5. Click the Verify email address button.

The system sends the verification email to the email address that you provided.

6. Enter the verification code from the email and click the Verify button.

Note: The verification code make take a few minutes to arrive to your inbox. Please, also check the Spam folder.

7. Create your password. Enter your root user password and click the Continue button.

8. Add your contact information:

• Select if this AWS account is personal or business.

• Add personal or business contact information.

Note: If you create a business AWS account, please add a company phone number instead of your personal phone number.

• Read and accept the AWS customer agreement.
• Click the Continue button.

9. Add a payment method to the account and click the Verify and Continue button.

Note: You can't continue the sign in process until there's a valid payment method on the account.

10. Verify the phone number:

• Select a method to receive a verification code.

• Select your phone number country from the list.
• Enter a phone number.
• Enter the display code from the captcha.
• Click the Submit button.

11. Enter the code you received from the automated system and click the Continue button.

As a result, you created and activated your AWS account.
