Territory Balancing
The ETMS system can balance representatives' territories based on specified parameters such as the number of target specialists, total retail sales, number of retail outlets, etc.
Territory balancing can be applied to layers with the smallest geographic divisions, such as districts, postal codes, blocks, or Voronoi polygons.
To balance territories, you need to:
- Specify the starting point for the employee (representative's starting location);
- Define the parameters by which the territories should be balanced;
- Review the balancing results and save them for further use.
How to Set Starting Points for a User
Next to the user's name in the Pivot Table, you will see an icon:
Click on it, then place a “starting point” marker on the map for the selected user.
If you need to remove the starting marker, simply drag it outside the country borders.
Territories can be balanced based on:
- Districts
- Blocks
- Voronoi polygons
How to Select Balancing Parameters
Once the starting points have been set for all users whose territories you want to balance, click the “Balancing” button.
A window will open where you can select the parameters for balancing.
To perform balancing, you need to select key parameters:
- Region
- Territory compactness
- Sales volume
- Types of institutions
- Specializations
At the top of the balancing form, the total weight of the selected parameters is displayed. The total must be less than or equal to 100.
Choose the parameters you consider important. Based on your selection, the system will automatically color the territories and balance them according to the specified characteristics.
How to Color the Map Based on Selected Parameters
After setting all the necessary parameters, click the “Balance” button.
The system will start searching for the optimal territory distribution based on the selected parameters.
To display the color-coded map, click on the numbers next to the “Balance” button.
You will see a color-coded territory distribution on the map.
If the balancing result is not satisfactory, click the “Refresh” button. The system will display the best available territory distribution.
The system will update the color-coded distribution and display it on the map.
To save the selected territory distribution, click “Save”.
If you need to recolor a balanced territory, you can do so by clicking the “Brush” button.
Thematic Maps
How to Generate a Thematic Map?
Click the “TOP BRICKS” button.
A familiar window for selecting balancing parameters will open.
In this window, you need to select key parameters:
- Region
- Territory compactness
- Sales volume
- Types of institutions
- Specializations
At the top of the balancing form, the total weight of the selected parameters is shown. The total must be less than or equal to 100.
To display the thematic map, click the “SHOW” button.
The system will color the bricks. The more intense the color of a brick, the higher the concentration of the selected objects within that brick based on the balancing parameters.
